817 - The Fall of Babbel(on)

The inevitable came through on Monday morning after a frustrating and performance void of any spark or optimism.

Markus Babbel's run as Wanderers manager is over after a near year and a half and it hasn't been the best. Turner, Josh and Nick are joined by the man-in-demand Stephen to discuss Babbel's dismissal, what went wrong, look at the squads performance and what is needed to lift this club back to the top.

We've taken into account the time the VAR calls have needed and included that total, so this episode is an extra thirty minutes for your listening pleasure.

This is a Babbel-less (and Tatiyana-less) around the bloc.

Nick is here with a solo pod giving you the rundown of what has happened in the last 24 hours (not even) in the world of Wanderers.

Alex Meier seems to be gone and Simon Cox seems to be due in from Swindon Town as we look to make a move on in the league to hit that top 6 or top 4 position.

Babbel is still under pressure so who knows if Cox's inclusion will help him or not but the squad is looking healthier so we may see some familiar faces against Perth this weekend.

815 - Managerial Debate

For those that have been with us all season know that we've been critical of players and manager at times but this one seems to be the real go to for that conversation.

A recap of the W-League loss, the Y-League win, the loss in windy Wellington and of course the Babbel in or Babbel out debate.

This is around the bloc.

814 - New Year, Same Us

Happy new year to everyone (except Robbie Fowler, so says Michael Turner). We have two men's matches to cover plus the Wanderwomen kicking a** in the W-League with another win.

More controversy - more segways - more of us.

This is around the bloc 2020.

731 - Clearance Sale

As we bring season 18/19 of the A-league for the Wanderers to a close, what better way to do so than for Turner, Speccy, Steven and Nick to give their thoughts on the season, players we should keep, sell, give away in a cereal box and delve into a little on what next season should bring.

Listener feedback is included plus a word from our sponsors...

710 - DEFEND!!

DEFEND! This is all that Josh wants from the team as they continue to frustrate the ATB crew. We talk about stadiums (terrible ones and the ones dreams are made of), we talk the good stuff coming from the WSW team (ie Majok and our attack - mostly), and we talk the things that don't seem to be improving yet, eg DEFEND!

628 - City Blues

Stephen and Josh are back to discuss a disappointing performance against Melbourne City which doesn't give us confidence leading into another Melbourne away trip to Victory.

Why did we perform so badly? Is it the cattle at Gombau's disposal, or is it Gombau's approach to the season?

627 - Slow Split Round

With all the talk of managers leaving, players having tantrums, coaching staff complaining about kebabs and more, there was a lot to talk about in this looooong podcast primed for your traffic-heavy delayed travel to work.

Turner manages more works per minute once again, Tats is requesting you to just "@" her and Nick is a tired man who gets yelled at.

Why? Listen and find out.

626 - [Title Retracted]

Stephen and Josh are back to talk all things football on and off the pitch. We look at the Wanderers comprehensive win against Wellington Phoenix, veer off into a discussion about what's wrong with the A-League (again), football in this country (again) and then get angry and frustrated at fans' treatment at certain venues and in the media (again).

625 - Around The SellOuts

Don't let the title fool you, it's all for sale.

We were sold on the SkyDeck at Spotless Stadium for the match against Perth Glory, albeit not sold on the game, but it was nice to be out yelling and having a bevvy at the SkyDeck bar (more can be seen of our game day reactions via Around The Bloc on YouTube). We also got to have a chat with Fox Sports' Adam Peacock and our very own midfield man Roly Bonevacia, (who knows when to shoot... you'll hear why).

The view was good, the game wasn't. The weather was good, the attendance wasn't.
Apart from that, there was still a fair bit to cover and Turner, Tats and Nick were at the helm of this one.

624 - Derby Fallout

Stephen and Josh return to talk all the fallout from the #SydneyDerby both on and off the field where it gets a bit heated! (no pun intended).
Also an insight into the Fans meeting with FIFA and AFC regarding the FFA Congress issues.

623 - VARcicalls

It did work in our favour in the end, but it's VAR from the finished product.

Whilst 'top' referee's were getting calls wrong in all sorts and the video assistant referee was probably playing FIFA instead, there was an excitement and fire in the crowd that we haven't seen in a while at fortress Spotless.

Turner, Tatiyana and Nick discuss that all over the place game against the Jets, why VAR isn't working and whether this could be the Wanderers' best chance of a win over Sydney FC away at Allianz in many a season.

622 - Wellington Four-NIx

We're back to talk a comfortable win against Wellington Phoenix which broke a few records but barely a sweat. A few tangents here and there and also looking towards a real test in Newcastle Jets this week.

621 - Sux Pointer Ahead

With a double win up the coast over the weekend (Y-League champions *cough cough*...we done a win) aginst the Mariners and Melbourne City the Wanderers return home with a much needed 3 points and a trophy for the cabinet.

This leaves us chasing another 3 much needed points against the Nix on Sunday in our long awaiting "ketchup game".

A win will help us maintain our position in the top 6 whilst keeping distance between the chasing pack and with an all-sorts Wellington coming to town.

Nick was also in all sorts with his voice out of action, but Tatiyana and Turner came up solid.
